Day 1

Depart Kampala and drive to Fort Portal (5-6 hours). Fort Portal has a really relaxed feeling. You can either get outdoors to swim in a crater lake and/or enjoy the Nyinamwiru Healing Waters. You can also explore the region by bicycle + short hikes along the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains.
2

Day 2

After breakfast we begin our drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Kibale Forest and chimpanzee habituation (optional chimp tracking here).  We’ll finish our day under the stars as you rest for a very full day 3.
3

Day 3

Enjoy an early morning game drive, lunch in the park, and an afternoon boat ride on the channel. This boat cruise is a relaxed way to get some really great photos and really slow down and appreciate the beauty of the park. Queen Elizabeth is home to the second greatest family of mammals in Uganda after Murchison National Park. It is 2000sq km landscape bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Edward. Great views and scenery abound. After the cruise we’ll have another game drive as we head to Ishasha.

4

Day 4

Enjoy another morning game drive on the southern side of the park. This is where you can find the famous tree climbing lions. After lunch we’ll begin the drive towards Bwindi/Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

5

Day 5

Wake early to track gorillas in either Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Read Gorilla Tracking At a Glance for tips on which park to choose or ask us directly. This day is simply amazing, so make sure your cameras are charged and you are ready to savour the best of Uganda!
6

Day 6

We’ll depart slightly later today to drive to Lake Bunyonyi. The scenery en route is stunning, and it only gets better when you arrive. Enjoy lunch with a view before taking an optional short, guided walk around the lake. Additional activities include visiting some islands on the lake.
7

Day 7

After breakfast we’ll begin the drive back to Kampala (5-8 hours). Another option is to continue in to Kigali, Rwanda or add on other stops if time permits.
